Write to your MSPs and ask them to stand up for students ahead of the vote on the Scottish Housing bill on the 23rd September.
The Housing Bill is due to be voted on in the Scottish Parliament, and as it stands, it falls short of helping all students and apprentices.
Students across Scotland are being priced out of education. Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) rents have risen by 34% since 2018, while one in five students now relies on food banks to get by. Housing costs and poor conditions are forcing students into poverty, damaging mental and physical health, and undermining our ability to focus on our studies.
Let’s Fix Student Housing, use the tool below to write to your MSPs and ask them to stand up for the need for real student housing regulation and student tenant rights.
