In response to the government’s Immigration White Paper, NUS launched a petition to Keep the Graduate Route Visa. The more signatures this petition gets, the stronger our voices will be. You can help make our voice as powerful as possible by sending the below all-student email template to your students asking them to sign the petition:
Dear [name],
The Graduate Route Visa, that gives international students 2 years to find a job in the UK after they graduate, is under threat, and we need your help to save it.
Last week, the Government published their Immigration White Paper with the aim of reducing migration, and now our international students are being targeted.
International students are essential to our community here at [institution] and in the UK at large. They should have the same opportunities as home students to be welcomed into the workforce, not villainised and pushed out of the country they have lived in for 3+ years.
That’s why we are asking you to sign NUS’ petition to Keep the Graduate Route Visa, to stop the government from villainising international students in their pointless culture war.
The more signatures the petition gets, the stronger our voice will be. Sign the petition now!
Yours sincerely,
[SU]
