There will be a Scottish Parliament election on Thursday, 7th May 2026.
We want to make sure students' voices are heard by politicians and that as many students and young people as possible vote in the election.
On this page you can find out more about the 2026 Student Manifesto and Turn Up voter registration campaign.
2026 Student Manifesto
NUS Scotland is calling on all political parties and candidates for the 2026 Scottish Parliament election to commit to a fair deal for our future.
The post 16 education system in Scotland is under pressure. The rising cost of living, insecure and overpriced housing and systemic underfunding mean it is not working for students or Scotland. But we can change this; we have the chance to build a world-leading education system, one that invests in learners, strengthens our economy, and delivers fairness for every student.
This manifesto is based on consultation with thousands of students and student representatives across Scotland, from conversations on campus to polling and policy debates; this is the collective voice of Scotland's students. The question is, are you listening?
The 2026 Student Manifesto can be viewed or downloaded here.

Turn Up - Student Voter Registration Campaign
Students make up 10% of the voting population, but our voice will only be heard if we Turn Up at elections.
That's why NUS is running the Turn Up student voter registration campaign.
